Helen Dobbs Phillips, 86, passed away January 19, 2013, at her son’s home in the Paint Rock community, following a hard and long fight against breast cancer.

Born July 14, 1926, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Nannie Mae West Dobbs; husband, Ewell Phillips; brothers: Loy (Joe) Dobbs and wife, Kay, Donald Dobbs, and Votaw Dobbs and wife, Louine; and sisters: Zell Buttram and husband, Luke, and Eunice Elliton and husband, Lou.

She is survived by her son, Roy Lee Phillips and wife, Linda, of the Paint Rock community; two grandsons, three great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandsons, sister, Lena Reagan and husband, Term; special family members: Belva Ward, Violet (Tubby ) Stephens, Louise Wilson, Denise Buttram, Sandy Newport, and Bobbie DeBord; and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted January 22, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Dean Barnes and Bro. Herbert Smith officiating. Music was provided by Lon and Donna Whaley, and the Heartland Singers. Graveside service was to have been conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Peaceful Rose Gardens in the Paint Rock community.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida had charge of arrangements.
