Fonda Leigh Bowling, 49, of Oneida, passed away January 14, 2013, at her home.
Born in Oneida, July 23, 1963, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ules and Ervil Harness Bowling; brothers: Nicky Ules Bowling and L.C. Bowling; and infant niece and nephews: Kerie Smithers, Joshua and Caleb Flint, and Caleb Smithers.
She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church; and worked as a dispatcher for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department and Oneida Police Department for more than 27 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Shanna Bowling of Oneida; three grandchildren, brothers: Clois Bowling and wife, Judy, of Jacksboro, and Tim Bowling of Huntsville; sisters: Wilma Austin and husband, Bob, of Savannah, Tenn., Polly Pierce and husband, Steve, of Lancing, and Lois Slaven and husband, Doyle, of Helenwood; several nieces and nephews, special brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted January 17, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Melvin Stephens officiating. Music was provided by the Heartfelt Singers. Graveside service was conducted January 18, at Bull Creek Cemetery.
Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida had charge of arrangements.
