Zelia Voiles Goad, 83


Zelia Oma Voiles Goad, 83, of Oneida, passed away December 23, 2012, at her home.

Born in Fentress County, March 26, 1929, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Audie Hull Voiles; son, Devon Eugene Goad; brothers: Edgar Wilson, Milford Maynard, and Woodson Easley Voiles; and sisters: Flora Mae Taubert, Georgia Wilma Wheaton, and Thelma Lucille Smith.

She was saved at the age of 13, and was a faithful member of Tunnel Hill Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. She was a homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family, especially cooking family meals.

She is survived by her husband, Cleamon Goad of Oneida; daughter, Gina Silcox and husband, Mike, of Oneida; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted December 27, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida with Bro. Troy Burchfield and Bro. Chase Lay officiating. Music was provided by Tunnel Hill Baptist Church Choir, and Charles Goad. Graveside service was conducted December 28, at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Armathwaite.

Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida had charge of arrangements.
